There are some interesting conferences on the horizon investigating the risks of climate change. Many of these are either streaming the conference live or will post conference videos and materials at a later date, so even if you are not able to attend in person, you can check them out. We will update this list as we come across others.

Title/Host: “The Changing Landscape: Energy, Environment, and Security,” The Fletcher School Triplomacy Seminar
Description: In the past twenty-five years the majority of the world’s oil reserves have moved from private ownership to state-owned oil companies. In the last five years, the United States has sharply reduced its oil imports and now anticipates becoming a major gas exporter as a result of the shale gas boom. Germany and Japan are drastically shifting away from nuclear electricity just as other countries are becoming new nuclear powers. Greenhouse gas emissions from burning fossil fuels are linked to more severe storms like Hurricane Sandy and intensifying droughts in Sub-Saharan Africa. The international landscape is changing rapidly. The Fletcher School’s Triplomacy Seminar will address how these shifts are occurring and position participants to lead in an ever changing landscape.
