Will Bugler, with the UK-based organization Acclimatise, recently sat down with RADM David Titley (Ret.) to discuss the global security implications of climate change. The podcast is an excellent summary of the key questions and issues surrounding climate and security, as well as a look at where the issue currently stands within the security sector (and the U.S. Navy, in particular). You can listen to it here, and below is a brief summary:
In our latest conversation on climate change adaptation, Dr David Titley, former Rear Admiral and Chief Oceanographer in the US Navy speaks about why he turned from ‘hardcore climate skeptic’ to seeing climate change as being one of the most important and challenging security issues of our time. Dr Titley is also Professor of Practice in Meteorology at Penn State University and an advisor to the Washing DC based think-tank, the Center for Climate and Security.
