Burke, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Operational Energy Plans and Programs, regarding the national security imperative of clean energy. Maintaining a military that’s ready for missions everywhere means it’s vital to use energy better and use better energy, Burke said, noting that the Defense Department is looking at a variety of energy efficiencies and renewable energy sources for military systems.
