Strobe Talbott: “It’s the Climate, Stupid!”

We’re a little late on this, but it’s worth highlighting. Strobe Talbott, President of the Brookings Institution and former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, has written a piece describing climate change as “the most urgent, most consequential, most dangerous issue of these times.” He includes significant policy action on climate change at the top of a list of three critical U.S. foreign policy imperatives that have suffered as a result of the political deadlock in Washington – the other two being geoeconomics (slow U.S. recovery means slow global recovery), and international security (with the U.S. inability to ratify the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty cited as a major failure). Worth a look.
