Darrell West: “A Vision for Homeland Security in the Year 2025”
The Brookings Institution’s Darrell West, Vice President of Governance Studies and Director of the Center for Technology Innovation, has recently issued an interesting paper titled “A Vision for Homeland Security in the Year 2025.” Summarizing the takeaways from an event held in November of last year, the goal of which was to “help shape strategic thinking for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), its critical stakeholders, and the nation” the paper highlights some critical future challenges, including the security implications of climate change, and related impacts on water availability and other “natural catastrophes.” It’s worth a look.
