Noah Fritzhand is a Research Fellow at the Center for Climate and Security (CCS), an institute of the Council on Strategic Risks (CSR). Prior to joining CCS, Noah helped develop sustainable resiliency strategies to address climate and ocean risk in vulnerable Small Island Developing States and the Global South as part of the Stimson Center’s Environmental Security program. While there, he also conducted research on natural resource protection, ocean governance, and IUU fishing, working closely with ocean bureaus and international NGOs. Noah has previously worked with Birds Georgia and Environment America as a researcher and advocate for both bird and federal public land conservation policy.
Noah graduated from the University of Vermont with a major in environmentally-focused applied mathematics and a minor in computer science. While at UVM, Noah collaborated with the U.S. Geological Survey to conduct his honors thesis research on using novel machine learning techniques to study streamflow drought in the Colorado River Basin.
