Kaitlin Lavinder is a Research Fellow at the Center for Climate and Security, where she is assessing the climate-security nexus in the Lake Chad Basin. Kaitlin is a freelance writer based in Washington, DC, where she writes articles on foreign and security affairs for various media outlets, think tanks, and consultancies. She holds an MA in International Economics and European Studies from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and previously worked as a national security reporter and Europe analyst. She has conducted on the ground research in Germany, Poland, Estonia, Czech Republic, Belgium, and the United Kingdom.
